Treating women during her pregnancy and early life is always special for the patient and me as an osteopath.
Putting my hands on this young life full of curiosity is always pretty special.
All birth are different, all are special.
No matter how your precious baby came into this world (C-section or traditional way), it is always advisable to have them checked over by an osteopath. As an osteopath, I will identify musculoskeletal issues before they develop into a problem.
When your lovely treasure is growing, the GUT (Stomach/Liver/Intestines...) is about to face new food, from the lactation, as well from a kind of smash food.
Digestion might be a problem with a lot of discomfort which makes your baby "grumpy" and crying and sometimes agitated.
I can help and teach you how to help this simple issue by realizing these tensions.
No worry if you haven't had your baby checked and you have concerns, bring them in, no child is too young or too old to be treated.
Understanding the human body and these changes during this periods of life is vast, I try therefore to offer the best treatment and advice for each patient.
There is a package for Mother (or Dad) and Baby to help both of them to feel awesome after.
Treating a person full of life experience is always a great slice of life full of great histories.
As an osteopath, I am providing a specific treatment for each as time through life makes us unique.
I never put the age in the middle of my treatment, only a matter of time for their recovery from the issues and the treatment.
Manipulation is often different from our experience community.
A "click" is often not necessary to improve and even solve the issue.
Stretching the muscles even the joint(s) will make you more supple, particularly in the morning when you wake up.
My job is to be adaptable to these persons and not them to be adaptable to me.
So, often these soft techniques solve the issue;
But if a manipulation is necessary and, we deem it appropriate, with your verbal consent I will proceed as gently as possible.
As an osteopath I cannot reverse the arthritis (or wear & tear, nobody can) but, through different techniques I can maintain and often restore partially the range of motion and reduce to eliminate the pain.
The sweet challenge treating children and teenagers is to find Quickly what is the problem.
Why Quick ?
Because these "ball" of energy are living fast, doing everything as fast as they could.
The treatment is mostly musculoskeletal and at the digestion because the organs didn't totally settle down, they can be the cause of pain, nervousness, agitation, excessive behavior...only because of their unsettling tummy.
Teenager often are facing a big challenge with puberty and most of the time an extreme fatigue with some headache, muscle achiness to pain which make their night broken.
The nervousness of intermediate or/& secondary school (as well the primary school) by facing more responsibilities, home work and exams can cause burnout of our beloved kids.
The craniosacral or cranial approach can help your son or daughter. It is a soft non-invasive treatment to "cool down" the nervous system and help them to have a better rest and be more efficient.
As the kids are active, a musculoskeletal "gentle" treatment is appropriate (gentle because even a teenager is not an adult as we can push the "click" to solve the problem, I am respecting their body with a gentler move) for the boys and girls.
With your daughter, we will include her "period time" (menstruation) which can be the cause of various tension, once more the respect of their physiology is primordial.
If you are not sure just pop in to have a quick chat about it.
It is an Obligation in New Zealand to have the parents or a known adult present during the treatment of an
under 16 years old.
We all know how much life might be extreme, in terms of intensity with or without kids.
Professional Life Might be stressful, and frustrating with some joy.
We all try to be ourselves in the middle of everything, and that's not so easy.
Our body is our expression of ourselves, and the load we put on it is sometimes too big. So, we have some achiness which may become painful and annoying.
An osteopath is like everyone.
Too much gardening, chopping the wood, chores and here we are looking for a colleague to ease off the tension or pain.
When I started osteopathy, I wondered what could we do to help at the best of these tensions from life, before becoming a "burden".
I find a simply way. Listening the people, make me understand their load and issues with their bodies.
Going to the gym after a long day at work or going before, farming, building, gardening.... all these activities as leisure or as a professional bring a certain satisfaction as could be tensional by overloading our body.
A resting night could be enough to feel all right, but unfortunately, these repetitive tensions in the body brings often some stiffness, achiness and pain.
So, there are two ways, see how that go, like gambling.
Or to see an osteopath and with 1 or 2 treatments maximum the problem is solve, makes you easy and kind of flexible.
More efficient at work, less tired and in a better mood.
I am taking care of your;
I will be here for you, if you have tension to pain;
As a former Rugby League professional player, the study I made on Strength and Conditioning, and Rehabilitation, made me understand the mechanics of our body.
Through the sport and my osteopathic experiences, I can easily understand how you get hurt or how these repetitive movements or overload your body during your training or even during the game.
When I arrived in New Zealand my knowledge about Netball was close to nil.
Because I am curious, I looked at some training and then games. I spoke with coaches and players to understand not only the game but how their bodies were responding to these multiple stop and go.
I am not an expert but when I am treating a player I can understand the problem, regarding their position, during the game and/or training
I am applying the same way when you are explaining how you hurt or/& you are facing an issues during your training or after it.
Sports people are responding generally quicker to the treatment, because of their fitness and, can to give a quicker feedback as often listen more carefully to their bodies.
I treat the players differently just before a match/competition and after or even during their resting time as after the season or between 2 races for the runner to ultra runner.
Because I have been in this perspective, I know what you are expecting from my treatments.
Don't hesitate to pop in and have a chat about your plan and how can I help
